All the Running Events Happening in AC in 2022

If your New Years Resolution was to get fit this year, why not make getting fit your vacation? Atlantic City has been holding some of the best running events for years and 2022 is sure to be one of the best running years yet! With new races never held in AC, and old races that have been canceled or virtual the last two years it’s a full schedule of running to your personal best. Below you can see the list of each race happening in Atlantic City for the whole year. Registration rates are listed based on what is available at publishing. All the races take place on or near the boardwalk for flat and fun courses, perfect for the beginner and running pros! If any new races pop up this year we’ll add them to the list! 42nd Annual St Patrick’s Day Boardwalk 10 Miler and 5k

Postponed and canceled the last 2 years, the St Pat’s Day Boardwalk 10 Miler and 5k is finally back! While there is no parade this year, put on your best green and be the parade yourself! Proceeds from the event benefit the Donny Fund.

The 12th Annual Seashore Gardens 5K Run, Health Walk

The Seashore Gardens 5k has not been held in person for 2 years and everyone is thrilled to have it back on the boardwalk this year!

  • Sunday April 10th at 7:15am
  • Race starts on the boardwalk in front of the Stockton University Campus
  • Registration: $30
  • Registration ends on day of the event
  • Event includes 5k run and separate 5k walk
  • Medals awarded to top finishers in each age group
  • Costumes encouraged but not required
  • Net proceeds from this event will benefit the Alzheimer’s/dementia services of Seashore Gardens Living Center, an independent nonprofit Home for the Aged.

19th Annual Shirley Mae Run & Michael J. Walk 

  • Saturday May 7th at 7:30am
  • Race starts on the boardwalk in front of the Tropicana
  • Registration: $35
  • Registration ends on Day of Event
  • Event includes Shirley Mae 5k, Michael J. 2 Mile Walk, and Kids Fun 1 Mile Run (Registration separate for each event)
  • Medals, snacks, and race shirt are included with registration
  • Additional Medals awarded for each age group
  • All Proceeds will benefit the Shirley Mae Cancer Assistance Fund, the Michael J Neustadter Pancreatic Cancer Fund, and Gilda’s Club South Jersey

Rock ‘n’ Roll Atlantic City Half Marathon

Another new race in AC this year. The Rock ‘n’ Roll race series is popular at its events in cities all over the country. Now the highly entertaining races also bring new courses to AC, including running on the AC Expressway, and to Bader Field!

  • Saturday May 14th and Sunday May 15th
  • Races run through Atlantic City, including on the boardwalk
  • Registration: Half Marathon $109 or 5k $49 Price increases after February 21st
  • Registration ends day of the event
  • Event includes the 5k on Saturday and the half marathon on Sunday
  • Medals and shirts included with registration

Hops Trot 5k

If you want to drink while you’re on your way to session #2 of the Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival, this is the 5k for you! Starting on the boardwalk, the 5k includes several stops at iconic AC destinations for beer tastings from breweries around NJ. The finish line is at AC Beer Fest at Bader Field, once you’ve finished you can celebrate with a party!

  • Saturday June 5th
  • Race starts on the Boardwalk and finishes at Bader Field at AC Beer Fest
  • Registration: $105 (includes tickets to Session #2 at AC Beer Fest) Price will increase after February 14th
  • Registration ends 
  • Event includes several 2 oz beer tastings along the route and finishes at Session #2 of the Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival
  • Medals, pint glass, and tasting mug included with registration
  • Prizes awarded for best costumes

Al Mackler Cancer Foundation Annual Run

  • Sunday July 31st at 7:25am
  • Race starts on the boardwalk in front of the Tropicana
  • Registration: $30
  • Registration Ends Day of the event
  • Event includes the 5k, Ruth’s 1 Mile Fun Run, Steven Jonas 1 Mile Walk, and 50 Yard Dash for Kids. (registration separate for each event)
  • A race medallion and a commemorative tie dye tshirt are included with registration.
  • All proceeds are distributed to pediatric cancer research projects at various hospitals by the Al Mackler Cancer Foundation

Foam Glow 5k

This brand new race taking place at Bader Field this summer brings a whole new experience to running. Runners and walkers run through colored foam zones and shine under the black lights! This race takes place after the sun goes down so you won’t have to fight that summer morning sun.

  • Race takes place at Bader Field

  • Medal, tshirt, and temporary tattoo included with registration

The April Fools Half Marathon Weekend

  • April 2nd and 3rd at 8:00am
  • Races start on the boardwalk in front of Resorts Casino
  • Registration: 8k race $65 Half Marathon $95
  • Registration until Day of the Event
  • Tshirts and Medals included with registration
  • Awards given to top finishers for each age group

The Bungalow Beach Boardwalk Run

  • Saturday June 25th at 8:00am
  • Race starts on the boardwalk in front of the Tropicana and finishes on the beach
  • Registration: 1/1/2022 – 02/28/2022: $45 3/01 – 5/31: $50 6/1 – 6/24: $60
  • Race is a 5 Mile Run
  • Tshirts and medals included with registration
  • Awards given to top finishers in each age group

The Atlantic City Marathon Weekend

  • October 22nd and 23rd races have different start times
  • Starts on the boardwalk in front of Bally’s and Caesars
  • Registration costs vary per race
  • Registration available same day, rates change based on date of registration
  • Medals, shirts, and pull string bags included with registration
  • Awards given to top finishers in each age group
